Chief Executive Officer Larry Ellison

I am concerned to learn that you are giving Cargill and DMB Associates a platform to promote their destructive Bay fill development project at your Redwood Shores headquarters. On behalf of generations of Bay Area residents who have fought to protect San Francisco Bay, I urge you to stop helping Cargill to develop over 1,400 acres of restorable Bay wetlands in Redwood City.

This development scheme is the greatest threat to the health of San Francisco Bay! Urban sprawl, massive Bay fill and diking have already reduced the Bay's size by one-third. Cargill's development would be ten times larger than any Bay fill project since the State began regulating shoreline development in the 1960s!

These salt ponds should be restored to wetland habitat and included in the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Restoring these salt ponds is also essential to providing necessary flood
protection and natural buffers against sea level rise, improving water quality, and enhancing recreation and open space for people who live and work in the area.

I urge you to halt Oracle's support for Cargill's massive development scheme that would destroy more of San Francisco Bay.

Sincerely,
James Welsh
